TWAF Announces TJ Goodpasture as new Director of Development
The Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) is excited to announce the hire of TJ Goodpasture as the new Director of Development. Goodpasture is the former Director of Development for the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), one of the country’s leading non-profit upland habitat conservation and hunting organizations where he covered the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska.
TJ grew up in Enid, OK where he developed a strong passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. After graduating college with a criminal justice administration degree, he moved to Tyler, Texas where he worked for the Tyler Police Department for 9 years. In 2013, he and his wife, Amanda (a Tyler native), moved back to Enid where he worked in sales. In 2016, TJ went to work for NWTF as the Regional Director of Western Oklahoma, handling all event fundraising and volunteer relations. During his time with NWTF, TJ helped build the relationship with Newfield Exploration which would lead to the single largest one-time gift NWTF has received in its almost 50 years of existence. The NWTF has since leveraged a portion of that million-dollar gift into more than $9 million dollars of conservation work on the ground with more yet to come.
With wild turkey populations in alarming decline across many parts of the country, TJ is proud to have been a part of the team that recently launched the new Waterways for Wildlife Initiative to leverage more than $40 million dollars of conservation work across the Great Plains. He has enjoyed traveling across the region networking with like-minded individuals, businesses, and foundations to raise money, and educate others on the importance of quality wildlife habitat, water, and our hunting heritage. TJ is extremely excited to be joining TWAF and helping grow & support the TWA mission.
